Each journal is designed with a different way of carrying your everyday essentials in mind.

The Essential Journal has a clean, minimal design without a front pocket, making it perfect for those who prefer a timeless, uncluttered look.

The On The Go Journal features an additional front pocket for quick access to things like tickets, receipts or even a passport, so you don’t need to open your journal every time. It’s designed for everyday adventures, whether you’re travelling or simply moving through your day.

The On The Go Journal features our signature colourful textured leather, while the Essential Journal is available in either the textured or smooth leather finish, depending on your preference.

Both styles are available in A6 and A5, so your choice comes down to the features you need and the size you enjoy writing in.

We use Italian vegetable-tanned leather from Badalassi Carlo, a family-run tannery in Tuscany known for rich colour and beautiful ageing.

Pueblo is our textured leather. It has a soft, matte surface and comes in brighter, more expressive colours. Choose Pueblo if you want colour, texture and a journal with more personality. Pueblo is used for our Essential – Textured and On The Go collections.

Minerva is our smooth leather. It has a more classic feel with deeper, quieter colours. Choose Minerva if you prefer something more understated, elegant and timeless. Minerva is used for our Essential – Smooth collection.

Both leathers will soften, deepen and develop a unique patina over time.

Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather naturally contains subtle variations in grain, wrinkles, scars and colour. These aren’t flaws—they’re part of the leather’s character and a reminder that your journal is made from a natural material.

Every Elsewhere journal is one of a kind, and no two will ever age in exactly the same way.

Our journals currently include the handcrafted leather cover only. Notebook refills and inserts will be joining the Elsewhere collection in the future.

Yes.

You can personalise your journal with initials or a name, creating something that’s uniquely yours or a thoughtful gift for someone else.

Please note that personalised journals cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Each journal is made slightly larger to protect the edges of your notebook while keeping a clean, fitted look.

Vegetable-tanned leather develops a natural patina through use.

Light, touch, oils and everyday adventures gradually deepen the colour and soften the leather, creating a finish that’s completely unique to you.

No two patinas are ever the same.

Leather is naturally durable and requires very little maintenance.

Avoid prolonged exposure to water, store it somewhere dry when not in use, and occasionally wipe it with a soft cloth. As your journal ages, regular use is often the best care it can receive.

If the leather ever begins to feel particularly dry after years of use, a small amount of leather conditioner can help restore its suppleness. Use it sparingly and always test it on a discreet area first, as it may deepen the colour of the leather.
